For the animals we eat

Dear God, recently I saw some videos that show what happens to animals in the "farms" where they are raised and slaughtered for meat. I cannot begin to describe the pain and anguish these animals experience. It is the brutality we imagine in our worst nightmares about concentration camps. Dear God, I don't know what a prayer can do, but I would just ask my brothers and sisters on this site to pray that somehow Your light will enter these darkest of places, these slaughterhouses, so that the animals will not feel the worst extremes of pain they are subjected to. I can only hope that some good will come of this prayer, God. Right now I don't know what else to hope for about this. Please be with Your creations, God. They do not deserve what is happening to them. Amen.

Dear Father, Thank you for the precious gift of life, for the beauty and wonder of all your creation - for mammals, birds, fish and all other living creatures. You designed them and gave them the breath of life even before creating man and woman. Thank you for the privilege of being stewards of your world. Thank you, Father, for the feelings you have given us, so that we can feel compassion for others, for our pets and for animals in the wild. We humbly ask for your help to live peacefully with all mankind and in harmony with nature. Thank you that we do not have to kill and eat animals in order to live a healthy life. Thank you for providing grains, fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts and for teaching us how to grow them. Maybe we could each have one day a week without meat on our tables. Father, we come before you in thanksgiving for the abundance all around us, and especially for your unending love and forgiveness through your son Jesus. We ask these things in His name, amen.

God, I pray that all animals stop suffering, that one day those who torture them for greed or for malice will understand the brutality of their crimes. I pray that you help all animals who are being slaughtered, abused, used for sacrifices, for vanity, for evil, who are being tortured unfairly by cruel humans with no remorse. I pray to you God, that you help and heal all animals that have been abandoned, thrown into the streets, beatened, sold for fights, ignored, left to starve, and even raped by perverse human monsters. Please give them justice for their deaths, for there are some humans who enjoy killing these beatiful, loving creatures which you have created. I pray to you and Saint Francis the saint of animals and nature, that they will stop suffering. I pray that they too as humans can have an afterlife filled with love and kindness. I pray for justice against those ignorants who abuse their powers to do harm against these defenseless creatures, who do not deserve the pain and cruelty done to them. I pray for the animal cruelty to end, feed the ones that have no food, find a loving home for those that don't have one, and if they must be killed let their deaths be less painful, protect them from the worst pains caused by imoral humans. These poor animals may be defenseless upon Earth, but under your power dear God, those evil human beings are defenseless against your justice. Amen.
