Iowa, and the world

Dear God, Your children throughout the state of Iowa are experiencing what is being called a "500 year flood". The suffering and desperation for so many is heartbreaking to think about. Furthermore, the effect on the crops in this "breadbasket" state will surely be catastrophic. Already, the world is in the midst of a food crisis, and energy crisis, and now this. Dear God, we call out to You to sustain us through the trials that these floods are bringing upon the people of Iowa, and all others effected by the side effects. We truly are One People, Your Family, and this event seems poised to cause us all to see that clearly. May Your Holy Spirit cleanse our sight, and enable us to come together as one brotherhood/sisterhood of humanity as Your Grace stills the waters. Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus, as this flood is something of a 500 year cycle, Father we pray for Your work to be done in this flood and what is to follow. There either is reason for the flood or a reason for the cycle that causes the flood. Lord, help us to understand Your purpose and speak to us on what You want to see come from the cycle. Lord God, Your people come to You seeking guidence and understanding and prayer for the people effected, which will be everyone of us. Lord reach down into the hearts of Your people and tell us what You want to see happen. Father lay upon our hearts Your purpose. We give you praise Lord, and want to do Your will. Father, we place this flood in Your hands Lord, and believe that You have a plan Lord. Praise Jesus! In Your name Lord. Amen
